When Cleve was born he didn’t get to come home from the hospital right away. In fact, when he did go home, his parents had to turn around and take him back almost immediately. Cleve was born with some complications – of which I can not begin to explain. His parents have been awesome and have kept everyone up with his progress on a blog which you can read about HERE.

Before Cleve was born we planned on doing his newborn photo session in my studio in Decatur when his was about a week old, but it didn’t take us long to figure out that was not going to happen. I reached out to the parents and told them we could do the session anytime they were ready.

When Cleve turned 7 weeks old his mama contacted me and asked if I could come to Batson Children’s Hospital for his baby photos. I jumped at the chance. We turned the tiny little hospital room into a perfect natural light studio. It did my heart good to get the opportunity to photograph little Cleve. He and his family mean so much to me and our community.
